Welcome to my online art classroom.  My name is Michelle Harrell and I teach art at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. I created this web-site for my students, my National Art Honor Society, bulldog parents for ways they can help the Fine Art Department, and other art teachers

Recent News:

It´s a boy! Evan Tanner Harrell was born 8/26/08.  See the family photos at http://harrellfamilyof4.shutterfly.com/I´ll return from my maternity leave on Monday 11/10/08.

Congratulations to Ms. Brooke Thomas on her graduation from Meredith College.  Ms. Thomas worked with Jodi Aker and my classes this semester at SRMHS.  See photos from the field trip Ms. Thomas led to her hometown. We had a wonderful time.  Visit her web-site at www.shannonjohnstone.com/~brooke. She has just gotten marrried and will be teaching at Cape Lookout High School this fall.

National Art Honor Society is meeting every other Tuesday. I´m stepping aside for the fall as the assistant advisors and letting Mrs. Aker and the current 12th grade members run NAHS.  I hope we´ll be able to take applications again in the the spring.

Our Digital Arts CFLC has exciting plans for 2008/2009 with their partnership with AIGA.  The group has agreed to meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month in graphics lab 401.

Our Leadership Study Through African Arts was a huge success and one of the highlights of my teaching career.  The banner was installed at the end of the school year- visit the school to see it. We are working with the Shabu Family to do another residency in partnership with Mary Phillips High School for Spring 2009.
