Hello! Let me introduce myself. My name is Michelle Harrell. I have taught art at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School since Fall 2000.
Over 10 years ago, I decided to create a web-site that would serve as a gateway for my students doing on-line lessons. My first on-line classroom- the ARTmosphere provided my students an opportunity to become active learners of art history. The ARTmosphere became very popular amongst art educators but it no longer exists because of hosting costs. I´ve created this web-site for my students and hope to publish my artist web-site by Spring 2009. Since I´m expecting my second son in September 2008, I´m giving plenty of time to embark on another online project even though it´s been in progress for years. |

I´m an artist... in training. Like many art teachers, I have to struggle balancing a busy teaching schedule, family, friends, health, and well-being with the all consuming act of making art. My true love is painting landscapes in oils but I experiment for the sake of being an educator with a variety of art forms and media. While I can only fit in a small handful of oil paintings each year, I remain faithful to my tried and true sketchbook.
