SRMHS Faculty/ Alumnae Art Exhibition; Ten Years of Excellence in the Arts
Welcome SRMHS alumnae and faculty! I am very excited about an opportunity to show off all of your creative talents this summer. In honor of ten years as a school, Visual Art Exchange is offering an exhibit opportunity July 10- September 10, 2007 at the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers in Raleigh as part of Visual Art Exchange's Community Exchange program. I hope to showcase faculty and alumnae in an online gallery within this web-site soon. Depending upon the success of this exhibition, we may continue this tradition in years to come.
About SRMHS Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School's mission is accomplished through a leadership and technology focus. We are preparing students for a vastly different world shaped by technology and requiring different skills. The school was founded ten years ago in an effort towards urban renewal with a major emphasis on technology. The SRMHS Visual Arts department is centered on fostering a creative environment in which students can express themselves and flourish. High technology and high creativity come together through the Digital Arts CFLC (Career Focused Learning Community). The school's visual art teachers exhibit their own art professionally and are active with the Triangle art community. Through the ten years of SRMHS, students have won many awards on the local, state, and national level and have work in permanent collections in 59 countries. Graduates have pursued Design at Ringling School of Art and Design, NCSU School of Design, SCAD, Pratt, and other nationally recognized institutions.
