Fuss uses photography without the use of a camera. Such procedures recall the earliest photographs of the 1830's and 1840's. He uses unusual subject matter such as rabbit intestines (chitlins) almost in the style of an abstract painting. http://www.vam.ac.uk/vastatic/microsites/photography/photographerframe.php?photogr apherid=ph069

Anthony Goicolea
American, born 1971, lives New York, New York
Midnight Kiss, 2004 and Blizzard, 2001
This guy is my age and has an unbelievable collection of work double that of some of the other photographers' in the exhibition.  Giocolea photographs lots of self-portraits in very theatrical schoolboy scenarios.  All the children/teenagers are actually Giocolea in staged settings.

Paul Shambroom
American, born 1955, lives Minneapolis, Minnesota
Stockton, Utah (population 567), Town Council, June 11, 2001, 2001
Archival pigmented inkjet on canvas with varnish
Paul Shambroom photographs ordinary scenes from town meetings and school boards like a modern-day Rockwell. Shambroom deals with Identity and Place by contrasting low level power versus high level power. The process is an interesting technique that we can probably mimick with watercolor ink jet paper or canvas ink jet paper that we have in limited supply.  Photo prints could then be embellished with other media such as paint, oil pastel, charcoal, etc.
